Call of Duty MW4 Camo Progression Tips by U4GM

Unlocking SMG camos in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 requires more than simply collecting eliminations. Some challenges reward accurate shooting, while others require specific positions, attachments, or engagement distances. Players exploring CoD MW4 Bot Lobbies can use controlled practice sessions to improve their aim and positioning, although actual camo progression depends on the rules of the selected game mode.

Understand SMG Camo Requirements Before PlayingThe first step is checking the camo challenge menu for your selected weapon. Different SMGs may require different combat actions, so using the same strategy for every weapon can waste valuable match time.
For example, the MP7 challenge set described here includes 20 prone kills and 20 headshots. These objectives can work together because players can fire accurately while holding a prone position.
Other possible challenges include suppressor kills, jumping eliminations, point-blank kills, and longshots. Understanding each requirement helps players choose the right map, attachments, and combat approach.
Best Strategy for Prone Kills and HeadshotsProne eliminations become easier when players control areas with regular enemy movement.
Choose a lane near an objective rather than hiding in an isolated corner. Position yourself behind low cover, aim toward common entry points, and avoid exposing your entire body.
For headshots, keep your crosshair near the upper chest or head before firing. Short bursts can improve accuracy, especially when enemies appear at medium range.
If enemies stop using your position, move to another active route. Staying mobile between engagements helps maintain a steady flow of opportunities.
Complete Point-Blank and Longshot ChallengesPoint-blank eliminations require a different approach from headshots at medium range.
Focus on narrow hallways, building entrances, and objective rooms where enemies naturally move close together. Use cover to approach safely and avoid sprinting directly into open sightlines.
Longshots require the opposite strategy. Find a clear lane with enough distance, use controlled bursts, and choose attachments that improve recoil control.
The key is matching your positioning to the challenge instead of forcing every objective into the same combat situation.
How to Unlock Gold and Platinum CamosIn the challenge example, Gold requires 15 kills in a single multiplayer match. Objective-based modes such as Domination can provide regular engagements around capture points.
Rather than chasing every enemy, patrol nearby routes and defend useful positions. This creates more predictable encounters while supporting the team.
After completing Gold requirements across the necessary SMGs, Platinum introduces another challenge: 25 kills from behind.
To complete these eliminations, watch enemy movement around objectives and use side routes to approach opponents who are focused elsewhere. Wait until an enemy is facing away before engaging.
Always confirm your progress in the camo menu because not every elimination angle necessarily satisfies the requirement.
Improve Your Camo Grinding RoutineA consistent setup makes repeated attempts easier. Disable motion blur when available, use a comfortable field of view, and avoid changing ADS sensitivity after every unsuccessful match.
Focus on one or two compatible challenges per session. Check your progress after each match, identify the remaining requirements, and adjust your next route accordingly.
