Recycling spare owned furniture is a direct way to recover Planks in Arc Raiders: select a finished piece, inspect its recycle return, and confirm only if you can give it up. For players comparing item listings separately, ARC Raiders Items is an optional shopping reference, but the in-game preview determines the return from your owned furniture.
Recycle only furniture you can spare
Learning a Design unlocks its crafting option; it does not give you a finished item to recycle. In Speranza, open the screen for your owned furniture, select a finished piece, and check its recycling preview before confirming. Similar names can be misleading, so verify that you selected the item itself rather than its Design.
Open your owned furniture and select the finished piece you want to recycle.
Read the displayed Plank return before confirming.
Remove anything you want to keep and make sure the selected piece is genuinely surplus.
Confirm the recycle action, then check your Plank total before leaving the screen.
Returns vary by item, so check the preview instead of assuming every piece gives the same amount. These listed returns make unwanted furniture useful for filling a progression gap.
Furniture Item Planks Returned
Study Piano 50
Alpine Wardrobe 30
Diner Shelf 30
Restaurant Table 30
Faculty Dresser 25
Console Chest 20
Hotel Chair 15
Draped Debris G 5
Do not craft furniture just to recycle it without checking the full crafting cost and the displayed return. A finished Winter Table returns 20 Planks, while its Design has a separate 40-Plank requirement; those are different entries and should not be treated as the same transaction.
Protect your upgrade Planks first
Keep 73 Planks reserved for progression before spending on optional furniture: Sheltered Retreat phase 2 needs 3, Research Station I needs 35, and Outpost level 3 needs another 35. Research Station I also requires 5 Battered Paperbacks and 3 Mini Pumps after the Outpost is unlocked, so Planks alone will not complete its build.
Celeste sells Planks in Speranza for 3 Assorted Seeds each. That makes the first 3 cost 9 Seeds, while buying 35 would cost 105 if her displayed stock allows it; check the quantity available rather than counting on unlimited stock. Buy only the amount missing from your immediate target, then contribute materials through the relevant project or upgrade screen.
Sheltered Retreat's material phase needs 3 Planks, 5 Sheet Metal, 10 ARC Alloy, and 3 Advanced Electrical Components. If that contribution does not advance the project, check the full requirement panel and current project stage before collecting more wood. For Research Station I, save the five Battered Paperbacks and three Mini Pumps along with the 35 Planks.
Gather missing Planks on nearby loot runs
Residential and Commercial containers are sensible targets: search wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, drawers, shop shelves, office desks, and stacking boxes. Old Town on Pendola Pass combines Residential and Commercial loot, and Old World is another listed option; neither guarantees a Plank in a particular container.
Choose a nearby group of homes or shops that fits your arrival and extraction plan.
Search each building's cabinets, wardrobes, drawers, desks, and shelves once.
Check your Plank total after finishing the cluster and leave when you have enough for the next contribution or the route becomes too risky.
Store the materials in Speranza before spending them on an upgrade or furniture.
Planks also appear on Dam Battlegrounds, Spaceport, Buried City, Blue Gate, Stella Montis, Riven Tides, and Pendola Pass. Favor a short route with several searchable interiors over crossing the map for a supposed guaranteed spawn. Bring equipment you can afford to lose, enough ammunition to disengage from immediate threats, healing supplies, and free carrying capacity.
Before your next run, check your stored Planks against the next progression target, keep that amount clear of decorating costs, and search the nearest homes or shops; if blueprint shopping is also on your plan, review cheap ARC Raiders BluePrints separately rather than using your upgrade reserve for optional furniture. |
